HaJ (pronounced “aj”) is an Emmy-Nominated and Award-Winning writer who has created, develop, produced, optioned, licensed, and sold projects to networks and studios including ABC, CBS, VH1, Sony Pictures, Disney, BET and Fox. HaJ is the creator of the award-winning stage show Funnel Cake Flowers & The Urban Chameleons, which debuted in NYC Off-Broadway. This innovative live show has been featured in The New York Times, Essence Magazine, Rolling Out, Variety Magazine, and NPR; and lauded as “George C. Wolfe’s Colored Museum for Millennials.” Critics have lauded HaJ for her innovative approach to new media and Madam Noire named HaJ one of the Top 15 Tech and Branding Gurus after the release of her interactive film, HERadventure created with her mother and director, Ayoka Chenzira (Kindred, A League of Their Own, Queen Sugar, Alma’s Rainbow).
Currently, HaJ is an executive producer with Level Forward and Susanna Fogel on The Year Between by Alex Heller featuring Steve Buscemi which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. She is also serving as the dramaturg on the Broadway show, POTUS by Selina Fillinger (The Morning Show on Apple TV) and directed by five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman (The Producers) starring Vanessa Williams, Julianne Hough, and Rachel Dratch who was nominated for a Tony Award for the production. HaJ specializes in helping writers, creators, and authors adapt their work to film and television series. HaJ received her B.F.A. in acting from Carnegie Mellon University.
