Joél Leon

Joél Leon also known as Joél L. Daniels, is a Bronx-born girl dad, author, storyteller and cultural critic who writes and tells stories for Black people.

His work has been featured in the New York Times, People, The Boston Globe, ABC NEWS, TED, EBONY, Okayplayer, Pop Sugar, The Root, Newsweek, Forbes and others.

His TED talk on healthy-co-parenting currently has over 1.6 million views. He is a Creative Collective NYC Creative Class alumni and winner of the BCA Bronx Recognizes Its Own Award in Poetry and author of the Holt/Macmillian essay collection, “Everything and Nothing At Once: A Black Man's Reimagined Soundtrack For the Future” is to be published by Holt/MacMillian, June 4, 2024. Joél is repped by Folio Literary.

He lives in Brooklyn and is the father to Lilah and West.
