Maya Contreras is an artist and lifelong anti-poverty advocate. She hails from four generations of artists and advocates including her grandfather, Belisario Contreras, who was just posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his service as an artist during WWII in the formally classified, Ghost Army.

Contreras is a federal policy expert and political narrative strategist who has held intersectional anti-racist policy and messaging clinics for leading members of legacy media, Congress, and U.S. Democratic Senators’ social media teams. As a former Democratic Congressional Candidate, Maya met with countless constituents, progressive organizations, and government officials. She maintains important relationships with non-profits that conduct justice work and Local, Federal, and Global elected leaders.
